Back in black

Here's a couple of shots from last week - I wanted to upload more with different outfits but didn't have a great set of pics to post ( these are the best of a bad bunch! I need a photographer roomie!)

The black ensemble was a work outfit featuring Cotton On top and shoes and Forever New skirt. I'll never fall out of love with black, no matter how hot it gets!

I've been rocking a lot of tube tops lately, and while I feel a bit like I'm 13 again, I find them to be very versatile. This one is from Supre and is worn with my $5 silk pants from Nadia's House of Serendipity - note the cute gold elephant button! I'm also wearing rose gold heels from Spendless - such a great buy and very comfy.

The pants need some serious altering (I have them safety-pinned at the back, haha.) so they join my massive pile of garments that can't be worn properly until I get a sewing machine. Sigh.

LittleBlackTeapot

LittleBlackTeapot is an Australian e-shop selling vintage, second-hand, handmade and remade threads. Their clothing is sourced from all over Oz and they have bases in Adelaide and Melbourne.

I was invited to team up with LBT to spread the word about their rad range of clothing, all of which you can buy from their Facebook page.

With op-shop chic being my signature look, I felt very at home wearing the acid wash dress and sunglasses-print jacket and teaming them with basic and on-trend pieces.

If you're new to wearing vintage clothing, start by experimenting with what you have in your wardrobe and wear what you think looks great!

LBT have heaps of fantastic unique pieces (the best part about vintage is that no one will be wearing the same thing as you!) as well as accessories and handmade floral headbands. Cute!

Thanks, LBT!

Product review: Lush Dark Angels cleanser

Introducing: Lush Dark Angels cleanser.

This strange looking black cleanser is fantastic for oily skin as it cleanses and exfoliates, drying up excess oil.
Dark Angels is chock full of good stuff, made from powdered charcoal, black sugar, Rhassoul mud, organic cold pressed avocado oil, sandalwood oil and rosewood oil (see a full list of ingredients here).

At first you'll feel like you're putting on war paint as you smear black stuff on your face, but the results are worth it, leaving your skin feeling very smooth. And it smells nice too!

I use Dark Angels a couple of times a week and it keeps my skin very clear. Of all the cleansers I have (about 4) this is the most effective. I also prefer to use something made from primarily natural ingredients, instead of something with list of ingredients I can't pronounce! Also, Lush buy their ingredients from suppliers that don't test on animals, which is fantastic.

A couple of tips for using this cleanser:
1. Don't scrub too hard, it can be quite abrasive.
2. Clean your face properly afterwards or you will be sporting some black marks and/or black pores. I use a toner afterwards, just to be safe.
3. Be prepared to clean the basin!
4. You could use it on other problem areas you may have, such as your shoulders and back.
5. You don't need to use to much, a little goes a long way, so this is great value for money!

Dark Angels will cost you $15.95 for 100g. Click here for more details.

AlunaGeorge

I saw this video on Rage this morning and couldn't help but post it for two reasons.
1. It's a chilled out, catchy tune.
2. Girlfiend's outfit & hair is to die for. I don't think I'd be able to rock a t-shirt dress, wedge sneakers and tassled bag quite as hard as AlunaGeorge.

Say no more, mon amore

Empire Records party at Hotel Richmond - not so much a party as an after work crowd plus me channelling 1995, and drinking cocktails. So it wasn't the best, they played the movie with no sound, we drank a Mon Amore cocktail which was delicious and chit chatted for a few hours.

But what are your thoughts on my outfit?

Tuesday baby

Today I spent a lovely many hours in the sunshine, shopping in Rundle Mall & Rundle St. with a dear friend. We stopped for lunch at Vego & Love'n It and I had my usual, Bali Burger and also a banana smoothie! Perfection!

Sadly I didn't buy anything, but did find bridesmaids dresses for my lovely gals. One more thing ticked off the list!

Today I wore my op-shop denim jacket and silver belt, Ladakh dress courtesy of another dear friend (good ol' clothes swap) and tan wedges from work. As you can see in the pics, I'm showing off my new neon capped heels, a la Christian Louboutin. Bought these babies from eBay for about $25 inc. postage. They fit like a glove, it may look like my pinkie toe is squished but, it's A OK!

Sunny September

So what's new with you?

I'm working both at Betts for Her as a sales lady, and as a social media advisor for SLAM Marketing. I adore my job at Betts (most of the time) and have some pretty exciting projects lined up with my work at SLAM.

My wedding is in just over 6 months and I still have a tonne of stuff to do! If you live in South Australia and can recommend an excellent hair stylist and or make-up artist, please let me know!

Speaking of weddings, I'm thinking this galaxy bowtie would look super cute (and appropriate) on my groom! This one is cute too.

I finally found a wedding dress, after a few failed attempts at buying a cheap one online. Lesson learned.
I've purchased an Anna Campbell dress, the trouble was in picking just one! Such a stunning collection of dresses, makes me want to be a designer myself!

On another topic, I've finally found a pair of earrings I can wear. I bought these from Sportsgirl for $5. Because they have large plastic backings and the pin is in the centre of the front of the earring, I can fit them snugly on my ears, despite the fact I have gaping holes in my lobes! Post-teenage-ear-stretching-phase win!

I also got layers cut in my hair which I'm not happy with overall, but it allows me to pin up the lower half and make my hair look short!

And I'm playing with the brights trend for this Spring and Summer. Bought this turquoise necklace from Collette for $7.50 (was $15 - 50% off for members!). It is my absolute fav, I am a huge fan of turquoise and this goes with everything!
I also dug up a fluoro pink skirt I bought from Supre outlet a while ago for about $5 and thought I'd give it a go. Got lots of compliments!

Slow jam

I am actually the worst blogger ever. "I have no time" is no excuse, because I actually do have time to take photos and post updates, I just get distracted very easily. I'm trying to bring in some money from my new job and slowly but surely getting my wedding organised. I will try harder to blog, I promise!

For now, here is some inspiration.
