New things!

Finally had a day off today so I thought I was high time I took some photos! Showing off my new (and not so new) additions. Loving the warm weather, the sunshine and any excuse to wear cute dresses, shorts and tops.

New wire and fabric headscarf from Supre - these babies are super handy because you don't have to tie them, just bend them. I also bought one in watermelon.

My adorable daisy necklace which I scored from the most recent clothes swap night.

New dress from Valleygirl - $14.95, worn with my imitation Jeffrey Campbell platform sandals.

Lovely tie dye dress from Savers, belt from Salvos.

Super comfy white knitted David Lawrence top from Savers. Best trans-seasonal item I will ever own.

My Esprit flamingo top from Salvos (which is awkwardly snagged on my boob. oops. )

Cute pink and grey sateen blouse/jacket thing also from Salvos

Should've done a close-up on this one - my current favourite, white shirt with daisy buttons. Unfortunately is made of synthetic and is terrible to wear in hot weather.

Just showing off my new (ish) shoes. I love these so much, soooo comfortable and currently 30% off at  Betts.

Chanel Pre-Fall 2012

Can we talk about how incredible the Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 collection is? It's all British India with dreadlocks, stunning embellished headpieces, necklaces, belts, bags, shoes. I love the crisp clean whites, the gold and pewter, and warm reds, pinks and browns. The collection is tied together with classic Chanel tailoring. Lovely. Check out pics of the whole collection over at Style.com.

LF

We've got some pretty great fashion retailers here in Australia which always stock the latest trendy pieces - Sportsgirl, General Pants, Dotti, boutiques on Rundle Street, everything in Melbourne, etc. But I'm always jealous of the choice and great price of clothing in the Northern Hemisphere at places like Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Topshop and H&M which we don't have here. I suppose it's a case of "the grass is always greener" but when I come across stores like LF, I get just a little green and wish I was back in the States, shopping up a storm. Check out pics from LF's banging Autumn and Winter lookbooks:

They also stock shoes by Senso and Jeffrey Campbell. I think I'm in love.

Celeb style

You may or may not know, but I am a huge fan of Go Fug Yourself. The writers/creators are average-chicks-turned-internet-goddesses Jessica and Heather and they are comic geniuses when it comes to analysing celebrity outfits. The reason I'm explaining this is because I've taken a few photos from the site of celeb outfits which were not looked upon favourably by the Fug Girls, but are "A-ok" in my books.

China Chow
I am loving the "new floral" trend which focuses on bold, colourful floral prints (think Mary Katrantzou and this lovely Hawaiian print by Stella McCartney) instead of the classic tea rose prints. I love the quirky, cape design of this top (dress?). Personally, I wouldn't have teamed this outfit with snakeskin pumps, rather some fuschia wedges or even some basic nude heels.

Sarah Jessica Parker
There are times when SJP gets it oh so right, and there are times when she gets it oh so wrong. This is one of the times she got it very right. The look is feminine and fun, I love the messy half-up do and white pointy heels. This  is an outfit I would enjoy wearing, as it seems to be comfortable but still classy.

Kate Moss
Call me crazy, but I actually like this look. Heather, of Go Fug Yourself, said she doesn't think Kate Moss "walks on fashion water" but I have to disagree. Kate can pretty much get away with anything, even if it is a fishnet dress with velvet cuffs and hem. I like the simplicity of her hair and a stand-out red lipstick. Shine on, you crazy diamond.

Shoes, glorious shoes.

I have to quit my job; Betts are making it too hard for me to abstain from buying shoes. I have bought a pair (had one pair bought for me, *squee*) for each month I have worked there. That's eight pairs of shoes. Granted, the majority of these are for practical work purposes, but now, look at these:

Essence, teal - $99.99. I also want this in the nude glitter.

Lotus, yellow - $89.99. It has fruit on it, enough said.

Juniper, aztec - $89.99

Hayley - $99.99. Do want.

Colossal, red/purple - $99.99

Superstar, fuschia - $119.99

Sweet baby jesus, that would be a lot of shoes in my wardrobe. There is also another super amazing wedge called "Spree" which is in store, but does not yet have a photo on the website, but is probably my favourite right now.

New additions

Just a quick post to share some new things.

I got another tattoo. This one is the lotus artwork from La Dispute's latest album, Wildlife. Anyone who is a fan of La Dispute knows how utterly beautiful, poetic, and often tragic, their lyrics are. I'd spent ages trying to decide which line/s to get, gave up, and decided on the lotus to sum up my love for the band and their music. Happily, I will be going to see them play at Fowlers in February.

Freshly inked.
All healed up.

Also, Pete and I exchanged early and not-so-secret Christmas gifts the other day. He bought me these amazing chunky platform heels from work (Betts) and I bought him a computer console controller thing that somehow can be used for his telescope... yep. Accord also come in black and nude and will set you back $89.99. I will post better pics involving the shoes/outfits soon!

Rust-coloured corduroy. Amazing!
